What inspired you to join MentalFill?

“Growing up alongside my neurodivergent sister, I realized that mental health (in countries like India especially) was often associated with lunacy and shame. The society pushes parents to believe they have been cursed with an abnormal offspring, a liability. I wanted to change that flawed pattern of societal mindset. A few years ago, she left for the sky, but her memory stays as the core idea behind MentalFill: to make children like her feel at home, in their own safe space where their differences are welcomed with calming aesthetics, features, and resources to get the help they deserve.  I was always hushed to talk about her to avoid the questions and the stares. And now MentalFill encourages you to hush the silence around mental health.”

“In the loving memory of my sister, who was a special child born in India in the 1990s to parents who did everything they could despite the lack of awareness and resources to ensure she lived a healthy life in spite of doctors from advanced hospitals giving up on her, instilled in me a spark to revolutionize mental health in India, lesser resourceful countries, and the global world. Having spent all my life with her, without ever knowing she was autistic, I just knew she was special and liked hugs, swirling to music, and tea a lot. Growing up, I saw her being accepted and loved by old strangers, sometimes met with amused faces and sometimes afraid. I wished she could have gotten the help she needed, the therapies, the community, and the resources that many lesser economically viable sections of society still lack. Four years back, she made the sky more beautiful, and that is when I knew that I wanted to make a safe space for children like her and to create an even safer, more informed, and inclusive world for them where they are met with the same love and selfless compassion they give to the world.”

“To make those who suffer from mental health ailments feel human,  and realize that their smiles make this world a better place. I want to help special children make their own safe space, where they can heal, grow and learn and where everyone can interact with them with the eyes of compassion and kindness, where they are an integral part of a humane and inclusive society, instead of being pushed into dark corners of ignorance. I dream of a world where their differences are celebrated.”

“Writing is my therapy, and I visualize my thoughts into reality through creative design. Brainstorming unconventional ideas is my forte. Having read extensively, alongside my interest in psychology, I am able to provide insightful details in writing and user experience. At the same time, my experience of student leadership roles in the past decade equips me to deal with conflicts, administration, and decoding the visual blueprint of MentalFill. On the lesser-known side, I am fond of singing and thankfully no ears bleed upon hearing my voice.”

“As someone who was subjected to harassment, bullying, and abuse, I learned that to survive, your voice is your weapon. The day you stand up for yourself and your morals is when you learn that no one can cut your tongue off unless you decide to stay silent in the face of injustice and apathy. Be bold, unafraid, and unapologetically YOU. Being weird in a world of normalcy is a gift; embrace it.  What makes you different is your strength. And the strength of your character builds upon the consistency between your values, thoughts, and actions. No one can take that away from you.”

“My personal struggles with mental health, particularly body dysmorphia and countless burnout, inspired me to take action through this project.”

“I have struggled with my mental health for as long as I can remember. From enduring constant emotional bullying to feeling lonely in a world full of people, I found solace in creating scenarios in my head. Over time, my maladaptive daydreaming began to fade, but my mental health continued to deteriorate.  Then I discovered journaling. What started as a simple act became a lifeline—a way to anchor myself when my thoughts threatened to pull me under. Each entry, no matter how small, silenced the countless voices in my head. They’re not completely gone, but every time my pen meets the paper, it feels as though the world pauses, leaving just me and the page, as I pour out everything. I found a healthier escapism method.”

“With my artistic skills, I hope to drive immeasurable social change, particularly in addressing the increasing rate of mental health challenges worldwide.”

“As a passionate creative, I am committed to contributing my diverse skill set, enthusiasm for learning, and strong management abilities to support the growth of this mental health project. My hobbies include writing, listening to music, reading, watching MSA, singing, debating on political & social issues, Photography, and exploring new interests.”

“The paper doesn’t judge. Let it heal you. It prepares you for the journey of Speaking out.”
